The Outliers Project began with my best friend and I reflecting on the impact gifted programs had on our lives and education. I knew, looking back, that the fascination, passion, and just real, raw education in that classroom lit learning up for me. I was lucky. 

 

Gifted classrooms are being eliminated all around the country because of  miseducation, poor rhetoric, and a lack of awareness about their purposes. The programs that do survive have seen massive cuts in funding and certification requirements for educators since the pandemic. The way gifted classrooms are operated in many districts result in schools profiting off the same gifted children they use loopholes to avoid providing for. All this said, no one knows better than parents of gifted children what the research has been telling us all for decades: Gifted Children need specialized education. 

 

When I first started putting out content online the lack of empathy education systems hold for gifted children and the long term impacts on kids and society when gifted children are neglected, my goal was merely to educate. I thought I might inform a few parents about things I wished my parents had known when they were raising me, a gifted child of immigrants. Instead, I found a whole community of hundreds of thousands of parents, gifted children, gifted adults, and educators, all with a common pain point and no solution.

Gifted children deserve stimulation. Stimulation, that is, that’s specialized to meet their needs, that’s rooted in updated research, and that feels like play. This is what The Outliers Project set out to create. We've tried, tested, and teamed up with the best in the industry to curate specifically for these special brains. We do the research so you don’t have to, and we send the result straight to your door- so that like any good education, our boxes can grow with your child.
